Hi.

Welcome to the latest art to emerge from the contemporary visionaries as seen through the eyes of Platinum Cheese.

'Round the Hood: Shepard Fairey, Retna & Kenny Scharf

If you're near Robertson and Melrose, keep an eye out for three massive murals on the new West Hollywood Library created by Shepard Fairey, Retna and Kenny Scharf.

Conceived by MoCA Director, Jeffrey Deitch, the project highlights the unique style and voice of each of these street artists. Shepard Fairey's large-scale mural depicts a peace dove on one side and elephant holding an obey giant flower in his graphic signature style. Retna's fluid hieroglyphic-like blue writing is said to be quotations from Indian-British novelist Salman Rushdie. And Kenny Scharf's burst of cartoon imagery covers the north side of the structure.
