For fans of Meryl Pataky neon art, you may have enjoyed our article about her "Traveling Palm Tree Project" with Brock Brake that swept Miami during Art Basel last December. With Pataky creating the sculptures and Brake capturing their glowing essence on film, the project featured one battery powered neon palm tree traveling the streets (and beaches) to check out the sites of the metropolitan city. Also on view during Basel was "Played Out", Pataky's repetitive image of palm trees in various electric hues - commissioned by Perrier and photographed by Brake. The duo recently paired up again to release two series of palm tree prints based off the beloved project with Gauntlet Gallery. "Played Out" is a series featuring the multi-color neon installation on fine art paper and stretched canvas while the "Traveling Palm Tree" edition highlights Brake's amazing photography on fine satin paper. Both pieces arrest the ubiquitous nature of neon in Miami as well as the quintessential imagery of palm trees in the city.
